Watch the Washington DC Launch
On Thursday, May 30th, 2019, in partnership with the United States Institute of Peace, Our Secure Future co-hosted the Washington D.C. launch of Mobilizing Men as Partners for Women, Peace and Security. The event, titled “How to Advance Inclusive Peace Processes,” included remarks from David Yang, Vice President of the Applied Conflict Transformation Center at USIP, Chairman Ed Royce, U.S. House of Representatives (R-CA) (1993-2019), and Ambassador Melanne Verveer, Executive Director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and Special Representative on Gender Issues for the OSCE.
Introductory remarks were followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Rosarie Tucci, Director of Inclusive Peace Processes at USIP. Panelists included:
Ambassador Donald Steinberg, Executive Director of Mobilizing Men as Partners for Women, Peace and Security
Sanam Naraghi-Anderlini, Founder and Executive Director if the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN)
Ambassador C. Steven McGann, Founder of the Stevenson Group
Dean Peacock, Senior Advisor at Promundo
Ambassador Rick Barton, of Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School, and
Sahana Dharmapuri, Director of Our Secure Future concluded the event with a call to action for those interested in joining this initiative.
