One Earth Future released the following statement from Sahana Dharmapuri, Director of Our Secure Future on the passing of Ambassador C. Steven McGann:
“On behalf of Cynda Collins Arsenault and One Earth Future, we would like to express our deep sadness over the passing of Ambassador McGann, and extend our condolences to his entire family. With his passing OSF has lost a critical advisor and champion for gender equality. He has been a stalwart champion of women, peace and security, and the power of women to transform the world to realize a more peaceful future.
A distinguished American diplomat, Ambassador McGann has been a confidant, mentor, and advisor to Our Secure Future since its founding. He has inspired work that is both groundbreaking and innovative. His leadership as a Board Member at the Women’s Refugee Commission and at the Claremont McKenna College Board of Trustees demonstrated his active and ongoing commitment that stretched far beyond his distinguished career in government. Ambassador McGann will be missed, but his legacy is evident in our efforts now and into the future. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
