Our Secure Future Supports Inaugural Meeting of Mobilizing Male Allies for Women, Peace and Security

On Thursday, March 22^nd, Our Secure Future was proud to support the inaugural meeting of OSF’s newest initiative, Mobilizing Male Allies for Women, Peace and Security (MAWPS). Led by OSF Fellow Ambassador Don Steinberg, MAWPS brings together individuals from the defense, diplomacy, development, civil society, and corporate spheres, all of whom are dedicated to advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The group aims to ally with, listen to, speak with (not for), and open doors for women’s groups and individuals working to advance gender equality within international peace and security efforts. Following this kick-off meeting, MAWPS will draft and publish a “Charter” with concrete, time-bound, and measurable goals, to ensure that signatories—and the organizations they represent—continue to advocate for the inclusion of a gender perspective across their work.
