Our Secure Future Co-Sponsors Ministerial Exchange on Democracy and Security in Buenos Aires

Supporting regional dialogue on democratic resilience and security in LAC.

OSF joined IRI’s Women’s Democracy Network to support a ministerial exchange convening senior leaders from across Latin America and the Caribbean. The event highlighted the role of women’s leadership in strengthening democratic governance, regional cooperation, and long-term security.

Our Secure Future was proud to support the International Republican Institute's (IRI) Women's Democracy Network (WDN) at Order & Liberty: A Ministerial Exchange on Democracy & Security in Latin America & the Caribbean, held April 29–30, 2026 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The two-day conference convened cabinet-level leaders from Argentina, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, and Paraguay to examine policies and initiatives that advance security, prosperity, and democratic resilience across the hemisphere, with a particular focus on countering external authoritarian influence and building lasting regional cooperation.

With support from Our Secure Future, IRI hosted a networking reception on the evening of April 29, co-convened with IRI's WDN Advisory Council. The reception brought together approximately 40 high-level government officials to forge institutional connections, expand collaboration, and build relationships across governments, the private sector, international organizations, and pro-democracy civil society. The event centered women's leadership and empowerment as essential pillars of sustainable security and democratic governance throughout the region.

The conference was also attended by members of IRI's WDN Advisory Council and the Argentina WDN Chapter Leads.
