Male Allies for WPS Interview Series: Ambassador Anwarul Chowdhury

Often called the godfather of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 Ambassador Anwarul Chowdhury is the former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the United Nations. A career diplomat, Ambassador Chowdhury specializes in UN and multilateral affairs, with special focus on economic, development and social issues.

We’re so proud to have Ambassador Chowdhury’s support in our work from his participation in OSF’s New York launch of Mobilizing Men as Partners for Women, Peace and Security to his remarks during our recent virtual dialogue with Foreign Policy magazine. Ambassador Chowdhury identifies as a “proud feminist” stating that we should all be feminists. We couldn’t agree more!
