The African-American, lesbian, poet, and essayist, Audre Lorde left behind a feminist legacy when she passed away in 1992.  Among her renowned pieces of work are: Sister Outsider, A Burst of Light: Essays, and The Black Unicorn: Poems.  Born on February 18, 1934 in Depression-era Harlem, Lorde is known for her revolutionary views on race, sex, sexuality, and class.  Her powerful writing and ideas have become critical to the intersectional and inclusive ideals behind the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
