OSF Projects

As Our Secure Future marks ten years of advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda, this anniversary flipbook reflects on the people, programs, and moments that have shaped our last decade of impact. From global convenings and bipartisan engagement to support for National Action Plans and emerging conversations on technology and security, the publication looks back on the immense progress made, while still reaffirming OSF’s long-term commitment to a more peaceful and secure future. As we look back, we are truly grateful to the many partners and friends who have helped make this work possible and continue to push the agenda forward.
In 2005, the UN Secretary General Special Report called on member states to create Women, Peace and Security (WPS) National Action Plans detailing how they will fulfill the mandate, to ensure that countries follow through with their commitments. The Our Secure Future Women, Peace and Security Academy is focused on engaging key policymakers and parliamentarians to create and implement WPS National Action Plans.
In 2020, Our Secure Future spearheaded the establishment of a bipartisan Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Congressional Caucus. The WPS Caucus seeks to ensure that the WPS goals stated in U.N. Security Council Resolution 1325 and in the Women, Peace and Security Act (Public Law No: 115-68) are actively considered national security and foreign policy priorities for the United States in our bilateral and multilateral relations, discussions, and agreements.
The full and meaningful leadership, empowerment, and participation of women is essential to resolving deadly conflict and building stable, prosperous, and just post-conflict societies. To help fulfill this vision, Mobilizing Men as Partners for Women, Peace and Security (MAWPS) is bringing global leaders—including prominent men from the defense, diplomacy, development, and business arenas—more fully into the campaign, along with the courageous women leaders who have long driven this advocacy, including grassroots advocates from war-affected countries.
Project Delphi was launched to apply the Women, Peace and Security framework to the emerging digital ecosystem. The project seeks to identify systemic gender problems, analyze implications for peace and security, and develop more inclusive ways to approach technology norms and policies in the coming years.
