On March 15, 2022, Our Secure Future and its partner the McCain Institute hosted the Halifax Women Peace Fellows for a closed door roundtable discussion. The event connected the Halifax fellows with high level partners such as Ambassador Steven McGann; Cori Fleser, Women, Peace, & Security, Stability & Humanitarian Engagement Division, Counter Threats & International Cooperation, US Department of Defense; Jeannette Gaudry Haynie, Senior Advisor/HQE, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness; and Josette Sheeran, Executive Chairman, McCain Institute. The fellows were challenged to engage on topics such as increasing women’s leadership roles in international security affairs and safeguarding democracies, and the operationalization of Women, Peace and Security.
