New Investment Approaches to Gender-Based Violence?

Last week, Our Secure Future Project Specialist Tara Dillon attended an event hosted by the Criterion Institute to create new initiatives that focus on gender-based violence (GBV) and investment risk.  Making the case that GBV creates operational, political, and reputational risks for the world of investment, the Criterion Institute argues that capital should be allocated to address it.  Their approach has three pillars: (1) Aggregate $1 trillion to invest in addressing GBV; (2) Engage 1,000 individuals and 100 organizations with expertise on GBV to develop strategies; and (3) Encourage asset managers to respond to demand for investment options that address GBV, with a goal of shifting $10 billion towards this cause.
